Tuscan Charity Group Gala Dinner at Garston 31st May 2013

Following the hard work by W Bro Ken Baxter the local Charity Representative the annual Gala Dinner for the Tuscan Group took place on Saturday 1st June.
Members of the Garston Group of Mark and RAM Lodges attended a very enjoyable evening.

The attendees included RW Bro Peter Connolly PGM accompanied by his wife Lynne. Special Representatives W Bro Mike Winterbottom, and W Bro Eric Drinkwater, were joined by their wives Dorothy and Tegwen. Diners on the same table was, Special Representative for the Garston Group W Bro Derek Horrocks and VW Bro Barry Elman.
Entertainment was provided by Sugar Dean who also encourage people to dance and as usual ladies where first on the floor. During the intervals a raffle was held (It would appear that some tables had more luck than others)

Early in the proceedings W Bro Ken Baxter presented two cheques of £500 pounds one cheque was from money raised at a St George Mark Lodge 553 the other cheque was from money raised at various small events in total £1,000 was presented this was promised by W Bro Ken Baxter at a previous meeting when an application for a Grant for a Walking Aid for little Lydia Cooper.
The PGM thanked all concerned in raising the money, and would encourage the continuance of good works for those who are less fortunate.

As usual thanks must go to Bro Peter Barker the chef and his wife Sue, and a very special thanks to Carol who not only continues to work behind the bar during the evening’s event but also prepares and decorates the dining room assisted by her hard working daughter Karen.

Time for a Dance
An atmosphere of friendliness, and enjoyment could be felt throughout the evening and once more proved the Mark Degree the “Friendly Degree”.
 
The next Garston Social event will be on the 22nd June 2014 held at the home and prize winning garden of W Bro David Mairs and his wife Doe.
